Nationals nip Mets
The Washington Nationals picked up their second win of the baseball season, defeating the New York Mets 4-3 at Citi Field Saturday afternoon.
Washington won as a +112 road underdog while the final score played UNDER the 8.5-run total.
Center fielder Willy Taveras was 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBI for the Nats. Starter John Lannan went five innings, giving up three runs on six hits. Matt Capps picked up the save in the win.
Right fielder Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 at the plate while Fernando Tatis, Henry Blanco and starter Oliver Perez all had RBI in the loss. Perez lasted just under six innings, allowing four runs on four hits while striking out six batters.
