Brewers down Mets
The Milwaukee Brewers scored twice in the eighth inning and held on for a 8-7 win over the New York Mets Wednesday in the opener of a doubleheader at Citi Field.
Milwaukee won the game as +140 underdogs, while the 15 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (8) set by sportsbooks.
Corey Hart, Prince Fielder, and Lorenzo Cain each had a pair of runs batted in for the Brewers. Carlos Villanueva got the win in relief, and John Axford closed out the ninth for his 23rd save.
Manny Acosta gave up the winning run and suffered the loss on the hill for the Mets.
