Utah vs New York Wrap - New York Wins 131-109
The battle between the Knicks and Jazz didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Utah was handed a 131-109 defeat on Monday at Madison Square Garden.
New York won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 6-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 211.5.
Carmelo Anthony had 34 points for New York and Amar'e Stoudemire chipped in with 31 points. Toney Douglas had 6 assists for the Knicks, while Jared Jeffries was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 6 boards.
Utah got 36 points from Al Jefferson in a losing cause and another 16 points from Derrick Favors. Earl Watson contributed 8 assists for the Jazz, while Al Jefferson had 12 rebounds.
The Knicks hit the break leading 66-48 before taking care of business in the second half.
Utah had a 41-35 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
