Denver got 25 points from Kenneth Faried in a losing cause and another 12 points from Wilson Chandler. Ty Lawson contributed 11 assists for the Nuggets, while J.J. Hickson had 10 rebounds.
First-half bettors who backed Atlanta were victorious, as the score was 53-37 at the break.
Denver won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 54-38.
Next game, Atlanta takes its act on the road to face Charlotte looking for another win. For Denver, they head home to face Los Angeles.
