Minnesota got 18 points from Kevin Martin and another 12 points from Dante Cunningham. Ricky Rubio contributed 6 assists, while Kevin Love cleaned the glass with 14 rebounds.
New Orleans got 18 points from Al-Farouq Aminu in a losing cause and another 14 points from Eric Gordon. Brian Roberts contributed 3 assists for the Pelicans, while Greg Stiemsma had 12 rebounds.
Minnesota led at halftime, 47-35.
The rebound battle favored Minnesota as they grabbed 50 boards, while New Orleans only had 48.
Minnesota heads into a battle against the Grizzlies. New Orleans, meanwhile, will have their next action against Chicago.
