The battle between the Timberwolves and Pistons didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Detroit was handed a 121-94 defeat on Tuesday at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Timberwolves were a 1-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 205.5.
Minnesota got 26 points from Kevin Love and another 18 points from Nikola Pekovic. Ricky Rubio contributed 9 assists, while Kevin Love cleaned the glass with 16 rebounds.
Detroit got 20 points from Brandon Jennings in a losing cause and another 17 points from Josh Smith. Brandon Jennings contributed 7 assists for the Pistons, while Andre Drummond had 8 rebounds.
The Timberwolves hit the break leading 64-51 before taking care of business in the second half.
Minnesota won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 46-39.
Minnesota looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the 76ers. The Pistons will aim to get back on the winning track at New Orleans.
