Michigan won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 15-point spread as favorites.
Michigan got 18 points from Trey Burke and another 13 points from Glenn Robinson III. Trey Burke contributed 8 assists, while Mitch McGary cleaned the glass with 11 rebounds.
Northwestern got 10 points from Alex Olah in a losing cause and another 8 points from Jared Swopshire. Dave Sobolewski contributed 3 assists for them, while Jared Swopshire had 8 rebounds.
Michigan hit the break leading 36-21 before taking care of business in the second half.
