Michigan State Defeats Purdue 78-65 - Recap

Michigan State got 20 points from Branden Dawson en route to a 78-65 victory over Purdue on Saturday at Mackey Arena.

Michigan State won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 3.5-point spread as favorites.

Michigan State got 17 points from Keith Appling and another 17 points from Derrick Nix. Denzel Valentine contributed 4 assists, while Adreian Payne cleaned the glass with 6 rebounds.

Purdue got a 20-point performance from Terone Johnson, who was supported by 15 points from Ronnie Johnson. Ronnie Johnson had 8 assists in a losing cause for Purdue, while A.J. Hammons grabbed 8 rebounds.

Michigan State led at halftime, 31-23.

Michigan State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 31-27.
