The battle between Minnesota and UCLA didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as UCLA was handed an 83-63 defeat on Friday at Frank Erwin Center.
Minnesota was a 3.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters.
Minnesota got 28 points from Andre Hollins and another 16 points from Austin Hollins. Austin Hollins contributed 7 assists, while Trevor Mbakwe cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
UCLA got 20 points from Shabazz Muhammad in a losing cause and another 10 points from Norman Powell. Kyle Anderson contributed 4 assists for them, while Kyle Anderson had 11 rebounds.
First-half bettors who backed Minnesota were victorious, as the score was 35-25 at the break.
UCLA won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 42-36.
