The battle between Wichita State and Tulsa didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Tulsa was handed a 77-54 defeat on Wednesday at Reynolds Center.

Wichita State won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 5.5-point spread as favorites.

Wichita State got 21 points from Fred VanVleet and another 21 points from Ron Baker. Fred VanVleet contributed 6 assists, while Chadrack Lufile cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.

Tulsa got 12 points from Pat Swilling, Jr. in a losing cause and another 8 points from James Woodard. Shaquille Harrison contributed 4 assists for them, while James Woodard had 9 rebounds.

The rebound battle favored Wichita State as they grabbed 43 boards, while Tulsa only had 29.
