Syracuse Defeats Virginia Tech 72-52 - Recap
The battle between Syracuse and Virginia Tech didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Virginia Tech was handed a 72-52 defeat on Tuesday at Cassell Coliseum.
Syracuse won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 11.5-point spread as favorites.
C.J. Fair had 17 points for Syracuse and Tyler Ennis chipped in with 13 points. Tyler Ennis had 7 assists for them, while Jerami Grant was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 10 boards.
Virginia Tech got 12 points from C.J. Barksdale in a losing cause and another 9 points from Ben Emelogu. Jarell Eddie contributed 3 assists for them, while Joey Van Zegeren had 5 rebounds.
Syracuse hit the break leading 35-29 before taking care of business in the second half.
The rebound battle favored Syracuse as they grabbed 41 boards, while Virginia Tech only had 25.
