March Madness - Western Michigan vs Syracuse Recap - Syracuse Wins 77-53
The battle between Syracuse and Western Michigan didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Western Michigan was handed a 77-53 defeat on Thursday at First Niagara Center.
Syracuse won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 13-point spread as favorites.
Syracuse got 18 points from Trevor Cooney and another 16 points from Tyler Ennis. Tyler Ennis contributed 6 assists, while C.J. Fair cleaned the glass with 11 rebounds.
Western Michigan got 11 points from Tucker Haymond in a losing cause and another 11 points from Shayne Whittington. Connar Tava contributed 6 assists for them, while Tucker Haymond had 4 rebounds.
Syracuse hit the break leading 40-21 before taking care of business in the second half.
The rebound battle favored Syracuse as they grabbed 41 boards, while Western Michigan only had 25.
