Philip Nelson completed 16 of 23 pass attempts for 298 yards for the Golden Gophers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Stephen Houston rushed for 111 yards for Indiana, while Tevin Coleman added 108 yards. Nate Sudfeld threw for 189 yards for the Hoosiers, while receivers Shane Wynn and Cody Latimer had 64 and 55 yards respectively.
Indiana was outgained by Minnesota 573-496 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 25-22 by the Golden Gophers.
Indiana lost the time of possession battle 38:02/21:58, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
