UAB vs Vanderbilt Wrap - Vanderbilt Wins 52-24
Austyn Carta-Samuels sliced and diced the Blazers defense for 334 yards as Vanderbilt handed UAB a 52-24 defeat on Saturday at Vanderbilt Stadium.
The Commodores were a 20-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 57.5.
Jerron Seymour rushed for 107 yards, while Wesley Tate added 53 yards in the win. Jordan Matthews and Jonathan Krause added 115 and 108 receiving yards respectively.
Jordan Howard rushed for 92 yards for UAB, while Darrin Reaves added 45 yards. Jonathan Perry threw for 155 yards for the Blazers, while receivers Jamarcus Nelson and Darius Powell had 69 and 56 yards respectively.
UAB was outgained by Vanderbilt 540-362 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 23-17 by the Commodores.
Vanderbilt lost the time of possession battle 30:36/29:24, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Vanderbilt takes its act home to face Missouri looking for another win. For UAB, they head home to face Florida Atlantic.
