Syracuse Defeats Stony Brook 28-17 - Recap
Ryan Nassib's 335-yard performance through the air was the key in Syracuse's 28-17 win over Stony Brook on Saturday at Carrier Dome.
Jerome Smith rushed for 95 yards, while Ashton Broyld added 61 yards in the win. Marcus Sales and Prince-Tyson Gulley added 117 and 70 receiving yards respectively.
Miguel Maysonet rushed for 158 yards for Stony Brook, while Marcus Coker added 58 yards. Kyle Essington threw for 94 yards for the Seawolves, while receivers Kevin Norrell and Adrian Coxson had 82 and 12 yards respectively.
Stony Brook was outgained by Syracuse 549-310 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 27-13 by the Orange.
Syracuse lost the time of possession battle 30:18/29:42, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Syracuse takes its act on the road to face Minnesota looking for another win. For Stony Brook, they head on the road to face Army.
