Rice vs Tulane Wrap - Tulane Wins 54-49
Ryan Griffin sliced and diced the Owls defense for 314 yards as Tulane handed Rice a 54-49 defeat on Saturday at Louisiana Superdome.
Tulane won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 4-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 57.5.
Orleans Darkwa rushed for 113 yards, while Albert Williams added 25 yards in the win. Ryan Grant and D.J. Banks added 140 and 59 receiving yards respectively.
Jeremy Eddington rushed for 103 yards for Rice, while Sam McGuffie added 71 yards. Nick Fanuzzi threw for 188 yards for the Owls, while receivers Vance McDonald and Luke Willson had 103 and 65 yards respectively.
The time of possession battle favored Rice as their offense was on the field for 30:28, longer than the 29:32 of their opponents.
Tulane looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Central Florida. Rice will aim to get back on the winning track vs East Carolina.
