Virginia Defeats Miami 41-40 - Recap
Virginia's aerial attack produced 300 yards and the Cavaliers produced a 41-40 victory over Miami on Saturday at Scott Stadium.
Virginia did not, however, defeat the Hurricanes against the spread, which closed at 1.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 54.5.
Kevin Parks rushed for 42 yards, while Darius Jennings added 21 yards in the win. Dominique Terrell and Tim Smith added 127 and 65 receiving yards respectively.
Duke Johnson rushed for 150 yards for Miami, while Mike James added 52 yards. Stephen Morris threw for 179 yards for the Hurricanes, while receivers Phillip Dorsett and Allen Hurns had 103 and 37 yards respectively.
Miami was outgained by Virginia 482-420 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 27-20 by the Cavaliers.
The time of possession battle favored Virginia as their offense was on the field for 36:14, longer than the 23:46 of their opponents.
Virginia heads into a Week 12 battle against North Carolina. Miami, meanwhile, will have their next action against South Florida.
