Florida Defeats Bowling Green 27-14 - Recap
The Falcons had no answer for Mike Gillislee on Saturday as the Gators rolled to a 27-14 win at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
The Gators earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 28.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 47.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Jeff Driskel completed 10 of 16 pass attempts for 114 yards for the Gators in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Anthon Samuel rushed for 39 yards for Bowling Green, while John Pettigrew added 38 yards. Matt Schilz threw for 204 yards for the Falcons, while receivers Chris Gallon and Ryan Burbrink had 69 and 45 yards respectively.
Bowling Green was outgained by Florida 365-327 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-14 by the Falcons.
Bowling Green lost the time of possession battle 33:08/26:52, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Florida takes its act on the road to face Texas A&M looking for another win. For Bowling Green, they head home to face Idaho.
