Florida Defeats South Carolina 44-11 - Recap
South Carolina couldn't hang with the Gators on Saturday as Florida blasted the Gamecocks 44-11 in Week 8 action at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Gators were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of 3.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 41.5.
Jeff Driskel completed 11 of 16 pass attempts for 93 yards for the Gators in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Mike Davis rushed for 20 yards for South Carolina, while Kenny Miles added 15 yards. Dylan Thompson threw for 83 yards for the Gamecocks, while receivers Ace Sanders and D.L. Moore had 32 and 23 yards respectively.
Florida lost the offensive yardage battle to South Carolina 191-183 yards in Saturday's game. South Carolina had more first downs as that total ended up 17-14.
The time of possession battle favored Florida as their offense was on the field for 35:28, longer than the 24:32 of their opponents.
Next game, Florida takes its act on the road to face Georgia looking for another win. For South Carolina, they head home to face Tennessee.
