Recap - Tigers Defeat Tennessee 38-7
The battle between the Tigers and Volunteers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Tennessee was handed a 38-7 defeat on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Tigers were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of 16.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 45.5.
Jarrett Lee completed 10 of 14 pass attempts for 115 yards for the Tigers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Tauren Poole rushed for 70 yards for Tennessee, while Marlin Lane added 43 yards. Matt Simms threw for 128 yards for the Volunteers, while receivers Da'Rick Rogers and Rajion Neal had 63 and 38 yards respectively.
Tennessee lost the offensive yardage battle to LSU 383-239 yards in Saturday's game. LSU had more first downs as that total ended up 24-11.
LSU led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 38:19/21:41 split in that important category.
LSU looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Auburn. Tennessee will aim to get back on the winning track at Alabama.
