Tony Pike threw three touchdown passes in a quick-strike offense that was hardly on the field Saturday, and the Cincinnati Bearcats held on for a 28-20 victory over a Fresno State team that ran all over them for most of the game.
The Bearcats failed to cover the 17-point spread, while the final score played UNDER the day's posted total of 64.
Pike finished the day completing 18-of-26 pass attempts for 300 yards. Mardy Gilyard totaled 177 yards receiving and two TDs.
Ryan Colburn threw for one touchdown and one interception in the loss.
