Recap - Ducks Defeat Arkansas State 57-34
Arkansas State couldn't hang with the Ducks on Saturday as Oregon blasted the Red Wolves 57-34 in Week 1 action at Autzen Stadium.
The Ducks earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 38-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 70.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Marcus Mariota completed 18 of 22 pass attempts for 200 yards for the Ducks in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
David Oku rushed for 81 yards for Arkansas State, while Frankie Jackson added 72 yards. Ryan Aplin threw for 304 yards for the Red Wolves, while receivers Julian Jones and Josh Jarboe had 80 and 66 yards respectively.
Arkansas State lost the offensive yardage battle to Oregon 605-530 yards in Saturday's game. Oregon had more first downs as that total ended up 34-27.
Arkansas State lost the time of possession battle 32:33/27:27, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
