Boilermakers win Big Ten shootout
Purdue forced five turnovers and scored one defensive touchdown as the Boilermakers outgunned the Illinois Fighting Illini 42-31 at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
The Boilermakers were 3-point road underdogs, and the 73 points scored were OVER the posted total of 44.
Curtis Panter had an average day, going 20-for-42 for 229 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, and Dorien Bryant had nine receptions for 120 yards and a score for the Boilermakers.
Juice Williams was only 8-for-29 for 95 yards and a pick, but ran for 145 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Pierre Thomas had ten carries for 105 yards and a major for the Illini.
