Cougars storm past Miners
The Houston Cougars scored 24 points in the second half to roar past the UTEP Miners 34-17 Saturday night.
Houston easily covered the 6-point spread at home while the final score fell well UNDER the posted total (61).
Kevin Kolb hit 20-of-30 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns and Anthony Aldridge ran for two scores in the second half as the Cougars snapped a three-game losing skid to sit at 5-3 overall with the win.
Jordan Palmer made good on 13-of-20 passes for 149 yards. He hit only 6-of-10 for 57 yards and an interception in the second half as UTEP saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
