Recap - Trojans Defeat California 48-14
Matt Barkley led the way with 352 passing yards on Saturday as the Trojans picked up a 48-14 victory over the Golden Bears at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Southern Cal won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 2-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 53.5.
Marc Tyler rushed for 79 yards, while C.J. Gable added 72 yards in the win. Robert Woods and Blake Ayles added 116 and 54 receiving yards respectively.
Shane Vereen rushed for 53 yards for California, while Isi Sofele added 14 yards. Kevin Riley threw for 193 yards for the Golden Bears, while receivers Keenan Allen and Shane Vereen had 61 and 45 yards respectively.
California lost the offensive yardage battle to Southern Cal 602-245 yards in Saturday's game. Southern Cal had more first downs as that total ended up 32-10.
California lost the time of possession battle 36:07/23:53, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Southern Cal takes its act home to face Oregon looking for another win. For California, they head home to face Arizona State.
