Panthers stun Cavaliers
The Pittsburgh Panthers disposed of the Virginia Cavaliers 38-13 Saturday night in their season opener.
Pittsburgh came into the game as a slight 3.5-point favorite at home and made good on covering the spread, while the game's 51 combined points went OVER the posted total (43.5).
Tyler Palko completed 17-of-22 pass attempts for 286 yards and three TD strikes. Clint Session intercepted a pass and ran back for a 79-yard score in the win.
Jason Snelling ran for a score in a losing cause, carrying the ball nine times for just 27 yards total. Chris Gould kicked two 40-plus yard field goals in the loss.
