LSU uses quick start to beat Bulldogs

No.9 LSU got out to leads of 21-0 and 35-3 in the first half as the Tigers dominated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 48-17 at Tiger Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers just missed covering the 33-point spread at home, but the 65 points scored were OVER the posted total of 42.

JaMarcus Russell led LSU with 327 yards and three touchdowns on 18-of-20 passing, and Craig Davis had six receptions for 97 yards and a major for the Tigers.

Omar Connor finished with 205 yards on 15-for-28 passing and one touchdown, and Tony Burks had four catches for 100 yards and a score for the Bulldogs.
