SMU holds on for win over UAB

The Southern Methodist Mustangs snubbed the UAB Blazers on a two-point conversion to hold on to a 35-33 victory at Legion Field in Week 2.

SMU covered as a 10.5-point road underdog while the final score played over the 59.5-point total.

The Mustangs got 353 passing yards and three touchdowns from QB Bo Levi Mitchel. Receiver Emmanuel Sanders caught 148 of those yards and found the endzone once.

Blazers QB Joe Webb, who finished with 226 passing yards and two touchdowns, hit WR Jeffery Anderson in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter. But UAB was denied on a run for the two-point conversion.
