Mississippi Falls 51-31 to Tigers - Recap
Michael Dyer tore up the turf for 180 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Tigers to a 51-31 win over the Rebels at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Auburn was a favorite by 7 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 60.5.
Cam Newton completed 18 of 24 pass attempts for 209 yards for the Tigers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Jeff Scott rushed for 134 yards for Mississippi, while Brandon Bolden added 32 yards. Jeremiah Masoli threw for 189 yards for the Rebels, while receivers Markeith Summers and Ja-Mes Logan had 66 and 46 yards respectively.
Mississippi lost the offensive yardage battle to Auburn 572-407 yards in Saturday's game. Auburn had more first downs as that total ended up 28-17.
Auburn led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 33:14/26:46 split in that important category.
Next game, Auburn takes its act home to face Chattanooga looking for another win. For Mississippi, they head home to face Louisiana-Lafayette.
