Mountaineers pummel Terrapins

Steve Slaton rushed for two touchdowns as the No. 5 ranked West Virginia Mountaineers trounced the Maryland Terrapins 45-24 Thursday night.

West Virginia easily covered the 17-point spread at home and the final score sailed OVER the posted total (48).

Slaton rushed for 194 yards from 21 carries and the team ran for 338 of its 381 total yards to help the Mountaineers remain undefeated at 3-0.

Quarterback Sam Hollenbach completed 24-of-45 passes for 217 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss, and Lance Ball ran for 49 yards off 12 carries with one TD.
