Bruins need OT to top Washington State
Maurice Drew found the end zone on a one-yard run in overtime to lift the No. 12 UCLA Bruins to a 44-41 win over the Washington State Cougars on Saturday.
The Bruins came into this one as 4.5-point favorites but fell short on covering the spread. The game’s combined score sailed OVER the posted over/under (65.5).
Drew Olson threw for 361 yards and five touchdowns for the Bruins. Marcus Drew caught one of those touchdown throws, while Marcedes Lewis (two), Brandon Beazell and Marcus Everett all had touchdown receptions in the victory.
Alex Brink threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another, while Jerome Harrison had 259 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground for the Cougars.
