Recap - Warhawks Defeat Florida Atlantic 35-14
The battle between the Warhawks and Owls didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Florida Atlantic was handed a 35-14 defeat on Saturday at Malone Stadium.
The Warhawks earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 23.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 56.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Kolton Browning completed 10 of 23 pass attempts for 147 yards for the Warhawks in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Jonathan Wallace rushed for 50 yards for Florida Atlantic, while Damian Fortner added 25 yards. Graham Wilbert threw for 261 yards for the Owls, while receivers William Dukes and Jenson Stoshak had 96 and 35 yards respectively.
Florida Atlantic was outgained by Louisiana-Monroe 341-307 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 17-16 by the Warhawks.
Florida Atlantic led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 35:55/24:05 split in that important category.
Louisiana-Monroe heads into a Week 8 battle against Western Kentucky. Florida Atlantic, meanwhile, will have their next action against South Alabama.
