SMU survives against UTEP
Kyle Padron's touchdown pass to Emmanuel Sanders with under five minutes to play proved to be the difference as the SMU Mustangs beat the UTEP Miners 35-31 on Saturday afternoon.
The Mustangs did not cover the 7-point spread, while the final score played OVER the posted total of 62.5.
Padron ended the day with 244 yards passing, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for two TDs.
Trevor Vittatoe led the way for the Miners with two touchdown passes and one interception.
