Georgia State Falls 45-3 to Crimson Tide - Recap
The battle between the Crimson Tide and Panthers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Georgia State was handed a 45-3 defeat on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Crimson Tide were disappointed, as they failed to cover the closing number of 54.5. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 58.5.
AJ McCarron completed 15 of 16 pass attempts for 166 yards for the Crimson Tide in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Travis Evans rushed for 19 yards for Georgia State, while Jonathan Jean-Bart added 4 yards. Ronnie Bell threw for 146 yards for the Panthers, while receivers Albert Wilson and Robert Davis had 60 and 45 yards respectively.
Georgia State lost the offensive yardage battle to Alabama 477-175 yards in Saturday's game. Alabama had more first downs as that total ended up 31-9.
The time of possession battle favored Alabama as their offense was on the field for 33:38, longer than the 26:22 of their opponents.
Next game, Alabama takes its act on the road to face Kentucky looking for another win. For Georgia State, they head home to face Troy.
