Huskies Down Illinois 34-24 - Match Report
Keith Price threw for 342 yards to lead the Huskies over Illinois 34-24 on Saturday in Week 3 action at Memorial Stadium.
Washington did not, however, defeat the Fighting Illini against the spread, which closed at 10.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 61.5.
Bishop Sankey rushed for 208 yards, while Jesse Callier added 66 yards in the win. Kevin Smith and Bishop Sankey added 104 and 63 receiving yards respectively.
Donovonn Young rushed for 58 yards for Illinois, while Josh Ferguson added 29 yards. Nathan Scheelhaase threw for 156 yards for the Fighting Illini, while receivers Ryan Lankford and Matt LaCosse had 100 and 35 yards respectively.
Illinois lost the offensive yardage battle to Washington 615-327 yards in Saturday's game. Washington had more first downs as that total ended up 30-17.
The time of possession battle favored Washington as their offense was on the field for 31:36, longer than the 28:24 of their opponents.
Next game, Washington takes its act home to face Idaho State looking for another win. For Illinois, they head home to face Miami (Ohio).
