Utah State Falls 17-14 to Trojans - Recap
The Trojans grabbed a Week 4 victory over the Aggies on Saturday, winning 17-14 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Southern Cal did not, however, defeat the Aggies against the spread, which closed at 7 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 50.5.
Cody Kessler completed 13 of 27 pass attempts for 164 yards for the Trojans in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Joey DeMartino rushed for 72 yards for Utah State, while Joe Hill added 51 yards. Chuckie Keeton threw for 179 yards for the Aggies, while receivers Travis Reynolds and Travis Van Leeuwen had 70 and 31 yards respectively.
Utah State outgained Southern Cal 285-282 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 17-13 by the Trojans.
Utah State lost the time of possession battle 32:14/27:46, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Southern Cal takes its act on the road to face Arizona State looking for another win. For Utah State, they head on the road to face San Jose State.
