UNLV Defeats Western Illinois 38-7 - Recap
The battle between the Rebels and Leathernecks didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Western Illinois was handed a 38-7 defeat on Saturday at Sam Boyd Stadium.
UNLV was the ATS victor, as they covered the 14-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 49.5 were rewarded at the payout window.
Caleb Herring completed 14 of 20 pass attempts for 140 yards for the Rebels in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
J.C. Baker rushed for 108 yards for Western Illinois, while Nikko Watson added 68 yards. Trenton Norvell threw for 141 yards for the Leathernecks, while receivers Joey Borsellino and Hi-C Scott had 60 and 27 yards respectively.
Western Illinois lost the offensive yardage battle to UNLV 424-338 yards in Saturday's game. UNLV had more first downs as that total ended up 23-19.
Western Illinois led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:00/29:00 split in that important category.
