UAB vs Troy Recap - Trojans Win 34-31
Corey Robinson sliced and diced the Blazers defense for 319 yards as Troy handed UAB a 34-31 defeat on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Troy did not, however, defeat the Blazers against the spread, which closed at 4.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 62.5.
Jordan Chunn rushed for 65 yards, while Deon Anthony added 61 yards in the win. Eric Thomas and Chandler Worthy added 69 and 62 receiving yards respectively.
Darrin Reaves rushed for 110 yards for UAB, while Greg Franklin added 14 yards. Austin Brown threw for 301 yards for the Blazers, while receivers Jamarcus Nelson and Jamari Staples had 199 and 103 yards respectively.
UAB lost the offensive yardage battle to Troy 497-453 yards in Saturday's game. Troy had more first downs as that total ended up 25-19.
UAB lost the time of possession battle 30:49/29:11, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Troy heads into a Week 2 battle against Savannah St. UAB, meanwhile, will have their next action against LSU.
