Roadrunners vs Blazers Final: 52-31 - Recap
The battle between the Roadrunners and Blazers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as UAB was handed a 52-31 defeat on Saturday at Alamodome.
UTSA won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 8-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 60.5.
Eric Soza completed 14 of 21 pass attempts for 235 yards for the Roadrunners in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Jordan Howard rushed for 90 yards for UAB, while Darrin Reaves added 65 yards. Jonathan Perry threw for 209 yards for the Blazers, while receivers Jamarcus Nelson and Jamari Staples had 101 and 75 yards respectively.
UAB lost the offensive yardage battle to UTSA 523-506 yards in Saturday's game. UTSA had more first downs as that total ended up 26-16.
UTSA lost the time of possession battle 30:30/29:30, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
UTSA heads into a Week 10 battle against Tulsa. UAB, meanwhile, will have their next action against Middle Tennessee.
