BYU vs Houston Recap - Cougars Win 47-46
Taysom Hill sliced and diced the Cougars defense for 417 yards as BYU handed Houston a 47-46 defeat on Saturday at Reliant Stadium.
The Cougars earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 10-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 64.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Taysom Hill rushed for 128 yards, while Jamaal Williams added 83 yards in the win. Cody Hoffman and Skyler Ridley added 156 and 90 receiving yards respectively.
Ryan Jackson rushed for 61 yards for Houston, while Kenneth Farrow added 9 yards. John O'Korn threw for 363 yards for the Cougars, while receivers Daniel Spencer and Xavier Maxwell had 186 and 136 yards respectively.
BYU outgained Houston 681-483 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 41-23 by the Cougars.
The time of possession battle favored BYU as their offense was on the field for 33:57, longer than the 26:03 of their opponents.
BYU heads into a Week 9 battle against Boise State. Houston, meanwhile, will have their next action against Rutgers.
