Jets fly past Lions

Leon Washington rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries Sunday, as the New York Jets defeated the Detroit Lions 31-24.

The Jets had been favored by 4-points in the game and were able to cover the spread. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (43.5).

Jets’ quarterback Chad Pennington completed 16-of-22 passes for 189 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Jerricho Cotchery caught seven passes for 79 yards.

Jon Kitna completed 22-of-36 passes for 269 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions for Detroit. Mike Furrey caught nine passes for 109 yards and a touchdown.
