Patriots pound Texans

The New England Patriots’ offense recovered nicely after being shutout last week, with a 40-7 drubbing of the Houston Texans on Sunday.

The Patriots had been favored by 12.5-points in the game and were able to cover the large spread. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (38).

Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady completed 16-of-23 passes for 109 yards with two touchdown passes. Kevin Faulk ran in for a touchdown and also had a touchdown reception in the win.

David Carr completed 16-of-28 passes for 127 yards with four interceptions for Houston. Ron Dayne rushed for 94 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown.
