San Diego Falls 31-28 to Texans - Recap
Matt Schaub scorched the Chargers defense for 3 TDs as Houston defeated San Diego 31-28 on Monday at Qualcomm Stadium.
The Texans won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the 6-point spread. OVER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an OVER play.
Arian Foster rushed for 57 yards, while Ben Tate added 55 yards in the win. Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels added 146 and 67 receiving yards respectively.
Ryan Mathews rushed for 33 yards for San Diego, while Ronnie Brown added 27 yards. Philip Rivers threw for 195 yards for the Chargers, while receivers Antonio Gates and Malcom Floyd had 49 and 47 yards respectively.
Houston outgained San Diego 449-263 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 26-14 by the Texans.
San Diego lost the time of possession battle 36:31/23:29, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Houston takes its act home to face Tennessee looking for another win. For San Diego, they head on the road to face Philadelphia.
