Panthers shutout Giants

The Carolina Panthers’ defense sacked Eli Manning four times and picked off three passes Sunday afternoon in a 23-0 drubbing of the New York Giants.

The Panthers were a 3-point underdog in the game. The combined score was UNDER the posted over/under total (44.5).

Panthers’ quarterback Jake Delhomme completed 15-of-22 passes for 140 yards with a touchdown in the win. Steve Smith caught 10 passes for 84 yards with a touchdown and also ran in for a score. DeShaun Foster wasn’t bothered by his injured toe as he rushed for 151 yards on 27 carries.

Manning had a horrible playoff debut, completing 10-of-18 passes for 113 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions. Tiki Barber was held to only 41 yards on 13 carries.
