Steelers headed to Super Bowl
Ben Roethlisberger threw a pair of touchdowns and ran in for another Sunday to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers past the Denver Broncos 34-17 and advance to Super Bowl XL.
The Steelers were a 3.5-point underdog in the game. The combined score was OVER the posted over/under total (41).
Cedrick Wilson caught five passes for 92 yards and a touchdown for Pittsburgh and Hines Ward hauled in five passes for 59 yards and a touchdown. Jerome Bettis led the way on the ground rushing for 39 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.
Broncos’ quarterback Jake Plummer completed 18-of-30 passes for 223 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Ashley Lelie caught two passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, while Mike Anderson rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.
