Packers beat up on Saints
The Green Bay Packers rolled to their first win of the season Sunday, trouncing the visiting New Orleans Saints by a final score of 52-3.
The Packers made a joke out of the 3-point spread in this contest. The combined score went OVER the game’s posted total (43).
Packers QB Brett Favre went 19-of-27 for 215 yards passing, tossing TD strikes to Robert Ferguson, David Martin, and Donald Lee. Najeh Davenport ran for two Green Bay scores, while Nick Barnett and Al Harris each returned interceptions for touchdowns.
Saints QB Aaron Brooks was good on only 9-of-22 pass attempts for 146 yards, and was picked off twice. John Carney’s first-quarter field goal accounted for all of New Orleans’ points.
