Ales Kotalik scored the shootout winner to give the Buffalo Sabres a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks at HSBC Arean on Friday.

The Sabres won as home favorites at -230, and the seven combined goals were OVER the posted total of 6.

Chris Drury scored the game-tying goal with 40 seconds left in the third period, while Paul Gaustad and Jason Pominville also hit the back of the net for Buffalo. Ryan Miller stopped 25 shots for the Sabres.

Taylor Pyatt, Jan Bulis, and Markus Naslund notched the Vancouver goals, with Dany Sabourin making 33 saves for the Canucks.
