Ottawa earned a 3-2 victory over Buffalo on Saturday, but needed a shootout to do it at First Niagara Center.

Bobby Butler clinched the win with a shootout goal in round 5 for the Senators. Ottawa got goals from Chris Neil and Matt Carkner in the victory. Carkner opened the scoring at 1:55 of the second period.
Craig Anderson turned in a 26-save effort for the Senators.
Buffalo got goals from Paul Gaustad and Brad Boyes in the loss, but it wasn't enough.
Buffalo got a 44-stop effort from Jhonas Enroth in the loss.
On the power play, Ottawa went 0-for-5, while the Sabres were 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
Buffalo lost the shots on goal battle to Ottawa by a margin of 46-28.
Next game, Ottawa takes its act home to face New Jersey looking for another win. For Buffalo, they head home to face Edmonton.
