Ryan Miller stopped 41 shots and was the shootout hero as the Buffalo Sabres edged the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 in a shootout victory at Joe Louis Arena on Friday night.

The Sabres were +135 underdogs to win on the road, while the five goals scored were just UNDER the posted total of 6.

Chris Drury and Thomas Vanek scored the Sabres' goals in regulation time. Maxim Afinogenov racked up eight PIM for Buffalo.

Jason Williams scored both of the Red Wings' goals, while captain Nicklas Lidstrom had an assist and five SOG for Detroit.
