Garon, Oilers shut down Islanders

Mathieu Garon stopped 35 shots Monday night, as the Edmonton Oilers blanked the New York Islanders 4-0 at Rexall Place.

Edmonton won the game as -125 favorites, but the four goals fell UNDER the posted over/under (5).

Ales Hemsky, Shawn Horcoff and Jarret Stoll each had a goal and an assist, while Marty Reasoner potted the other marker. Dustin Penner and Tom Gilbert each pocketed a pair of assists in the win.

Rick DiPietro stopped 29-of-33 shots in a losing effort for the Islanders.
